What is the best season for Chopta?
March to June and September to November are ideal. Winter (Dec–Feb) brings heavy snow and the temple closes. Summer is perfect for trekking with clear Himalayan views.
Can we do Chopta as a day trip from Dehradun?
Chopta is about 220km from Dehradun. A day trip is very rushed — we recommend the 1N 2D package for a relaxed, enjoyable experience.
Is Chandrashila summit accessible from Chopta?
Yes — Chandrashila peak (3,680m) is a further 1.5km beyond Tungnath Temple. It offers 360-degree Himalayan views including Nanda Devi and Trishul.
